Jammu, July 13 -- Without taking note of increasing number of COVID cases in J&K, authorities have decided on Sunday to open the tourism sector in a phased manner from July 14.

Due to prevailing fear among the people, earlier efforts of the government to allow opening of restaurants with 50 percent dining capacity and plying of private passengers vehicles have already failed. Now authorities have come out any step and this decision has raised many eye-brows.

One the one hand, some officers were seen asking people to leave picturesque Pahalgam in the afternoon but in the evening authorities decided to allow open places for tourists.
