Dhaka, May 15 -- The judiciary has taken a giant leap by deciding to open virtual courts across the country to hear urgent cases during corona pandemic. The right to protection of law and access to justice are fundamental rights which are enshrined in the Constitution of Bangladesh. However, the Covid-19 pandemic has, in effect, suspended the execution of these fundamental rights. Since March 26, all courts except Judicial Magistracy for emergency work have been adjourned for long time. As public gatherings at the court premises will inevitably make to the spread of the coronavirus, the courts all over the world are increasingly conducting their cases through virtual courts using video conferencing and technology.
