Dar es Salaam, Feb. 22 -- SOME men in Rukwa Region have decided to break silence and confessed to have had rough time and beatings from their wives in marriage.

While saying gender based violence still ripe in the region and men also suffering, they said it has been difficult for them to report such incidents for fear of damaging their reputations in the public.

According to them, many of them prefer to suffer in silence and protect their male dignity, as well as reputation of their families.

The men made the revelation during a stakeholders meeting on strategies to address early pregnancies and teen marriage in the region.
