He commenced his schooling at Sri Sumangala from Grade One and in 2010 he attended practices at the School Cricket Academy and initially under Dumindu Lakmal and in 2013 he got selected for the under 13 team and claimed 50 wickets with one ten wicket haul and three five wicket hauls. But in his second year he got seven wickets and in his third year and fourth year he captured 18 and 15 wickets respectively.
