Sri Lanka, Sept. 4 -- Rural Roads and Other Infrastructure State Minister Nimal Lanza yesterday said that the Government will abolish the 19th amendment, which led the country into chaos and bring a whole new Constitution to fulfill the wishes of the people who gave a two-third majority to the Government at the previous General Election.

He said that the 19th Amendment to the Constitution has many ambiguities and uncertainties, resulting in confusion. "As the people have given us the mandate, we wanted for a constitutional amendment, our first task will be to remove the 19th Amendment. It is a timely need to bring a new Constitution for the country," he added.
