Sri Lanka, April 8 -- Tourism Minister Prasanna Ranatunga said that students enrolled for new courses conducted by the Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Managment (SLITHM) will be trained in dealing with tourists in keeping with the health guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

He said that attention has been paid to update the subjects in the courses and introducing new courses in keeping with the current requirements in the world.

Accordingly, new students enrolling for SLTHM courses will be trained on how to deal with tourists in the wake of pandemic.

The Institute expects to enroll around 5275 new students for this year which is a three fold increase compared to last year.
