Sri Lanka, Sept. 19 -- The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) yesterday invited the United National Party (UNP) to join the alliance it was forming and contest the Provincial Council election.
SJB General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara said the SJB has extended its invitation to the UNP to join the alliance."I congratulate the newly appointed UNP Deputy Leader Ruwan Wijewardene, and I call upon the UNP and its members to join the SJB for the progress of the party and the country".
When asked if Wijewardene will oblige to the invitation, Bandara said, the new UNP Deputy Leader was a very educated man, with vast experience and he knows what's best for the party.
