Sri Lanka, Nov. 29 -- Sprinter Nimali Liyanarachchi, a medal prospect at the forthcoming South Asian Games (SAG), met with a road accident yesterday and was admitted to the hospital. She was scheduled to leave Nepal today along with other athletes.

She has been admitted to the General Hospital Colombo. She is current record holder in the South Asian meet in the 800m.

She has won gold medals at the 2016 Asian Games and 2017 Asian Championships, being placed third in 2015 and fourth in 2013. Nimali also holds the Sri Lankan national record in the 800m event.
