Sri Lanka, March 26 -- More than 3,000 new smart bus halts with free Wi-Fi and other facilities will be set up islandwide.

All passengers who take shelter at these bus halts will be automatically covered by Rs. one million worth insurance.

Passengers can charge their phones at these bus halts while digital TV channels would also be available.

Digital screens displaying environmental friendly messages together with CCTV cameras providing 24 hour Security will be installed at these bus halts.

The first smart bus halt equipped with all these facilities was opened by Chief Government Whip and Highways Minister Johnston Fernando near the HSBC Bank in Rajagiriya.
