Sri Lanka, Sept. 1 -- The Sapugaskanda Police had arrested eight suspects in connection with a heroin racket operated by an underworld racketeer known as 'Kimbula-ela Guna' and his brother known as 'Suresh'.

The police had arrested eight suspects from August 18 to date from various areas in and around Colombo and 70 grams of heroin, two swords, Rs. 20,000 in cash, two three wheelers and two motorcycles were also seized.

Police stated that this group had been smuggling drugs from India to Mannar and then transporting it to Colombo by train for distribution.

Investigations have revealed that the suspects had been operating the heroin racket in the Sapugaskanda, Wattala, Thotalanga and Mutwal areas.
