Sri Lanka, Sept. 16 -- The Court of Appeal today decided to terminate contempt of court proceedings against Northern Province former Chief Minister and Retired Supreme Court Justice C.V Wigneswaran and two others.

Filing a contempt of court action in Court of Appeal, B.Denishwaran alleged that former Northern Province Chief Minister C.V Wigneswaran and Ananthi Sasitharan and K.Sivanesan have willfully acted in contempt of the Court of Appeal order since they prevented him from acting as a Minister of the Northern Province.

Counsel Suren Fernando appearing for Denishwaran informed the Court that his client was willing to reach a settlement, if Wigneswaran withdrew the appeal petition filed in the Supreme Court.
