Sri Lanka, Sept. 12 -- Canadian investors called on Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees, yesterday, to discuss potential investment and development plans in the North and East.

The Prime Minister and investors exchanged matters concerning the employment in the North and East, and investments to create employment opportunities.

The meeting was attended by reputed investors who have major investments in Canada and now wish to invest in Sri Lanka.

According to sources, Prime Minister Rajapaksa was interested in the plans the investors have for the North and East, and emphasized on the work that could be done with Palm Development Corporation. Minister of Fisheries, Douglas Devananda was also present at the meeting.
