Uganda, Nov. 25 -- Malita Namayanja aka Maama Chama, the National Resistance Army (NRA) bush war veteran and a close confidant to President Yoweri Museveni was on Thursday laid to rest.

Namayanja who has been a National Resistance Movement (NRM) mobilizer was buried at Kiremera village in Makulubita Sub-County, Luwero district. Namayanja died at Nakasero hospital at 96 years after a long illness.

Namayanja joined NRA fighters in 1981 at Mondlane camp which was located at Kitemamasanga village in Luwero.

Namayanja, a veteran was a close of confidant President Yoweri Museveni as well as Col (rtd) Dr Kizza Besigye and other UPDF generals.
