Uganda, Oct. 13 -- A High Court judge has sued a contractor seeking to recover more than Shs320m in damages for alleged breach of contract over shoddy work on her site.

The claim arises from alleged failure by the contractor, Mr James Kayita, and his Hallmark Construction and Painting Company, to implement contract work assigned to him by Justice Lydia Mugambe in 2016.

In a case filed before the High Court in Kampala, Justice Mugambe sued Mr Kayita jointly with Hallmark Construction and Painting Company for allegedly causing her financial loss in rectifying the shoddy work.

Through her lawyers, Justice Mugambe is claiming special damages worth Shs323m as well as general and aggravated damages plus costs of the suit.
