Sri Lanka, May 30 -- The writ petition challenging the Puttalam High Court Judge's decision to remand a lady lawyer was terminated today before the Court of Appeal after the parties agreed to settle the matter.
On March 31, the Court of Appeal issued an interim order suspending the High Court Judge's decision to remand the lady lawyer, following a writ petition filed by Rajeev Amarasuriya, the newly elected President of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL).
Court was informed that Attorney-at-Law Priyanka Udayangani had been released from custody and therefore, there was no need to proceed with the application.
