Sri Lanka, Jan. 12 -- Former Minister Wimal Weerawansa, accompanied by civil society representatives and supporters, has begun a continuous 'Satyagraha' protest in front of the Education Ministry.

The demonstration demands the withdrawal of the recently introduced education reforms and calls for Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya to resign from her position as Education Minister.

Participants have pledged to maintain the sit-in until their demands are addressed, highlighting widespread opposition to the government's proposed changes in the education sector.
