Srilanka, Feb. 11 -- Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe of the Gajaba Regiment formally assumed duties as the 66th Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army at the Army Headquarters.
Born on June 6, 1970, Major General Wickramasinghe pursued his early education at Vijaya College, Matale, and later at Dharmaraja College, Kandy, where he nurtured his leadership skills and academic excellence. Demonstrating a commitment to national service from an early age, he enlisted in the Sri Lanka Army on January 20, 1989, under Course No. 31 at the Indian Military Academy (IMA). Following his rigorous training, he was commissioned on October 5, 1990, and was posted to the prestigious Gajaba Regiment.
