Sri Lanka, Jan. 1 -- The Department of Meteorology has forecast showers in several sea areas around the island during the next 24 hours, according to a weather bulletin issued at 2.00 p.m. today (10).
Showers are expected in the sea areas off the coast extending from Mannar to Trincomalee via Puttalam, Colombo, Galle, Hambantota and Batticaloa.
Winds will be northerly to north-easterly, with speeds ranging between 30 and 40 kmph. Wind speeds may increase up to 40-45 kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Matara to Colombo via Galle.
