Sri Lanka, Jan. 21 -- Vehicle owners affected by a landslide in the Rendapola settlement in Nuwara Eliya have appealed to the relevant authorities for assistance to recover several vehicles buried under mud following Cyclone Ditva.
According to affected resident Yoganathan Ananda Murthy, the landslide, which occurred on the night of November 27 last year, claimed the lives of eight people and destroyed a number of houses in the area. A van, a lorry, a three-wheeler, and a motorcycle that had been parked along the road were also swept away and buried under debris.
