Sri Lanka, April 23 -- The Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish the UAE-Sri Lanka Joint Business Council to strengthen bilateral trade and investment ties.

The agreement was signed in Colombo in the presence of visiting UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Sri Lanka's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Vijitha Herath.

Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, UAE's Assistant Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs, and Dr. Lakmal Fernando, Vice President of the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka, signed the MoU.
