Sri Lanka, Sept. 17 -- The U.S. Embassy in Sri Lanka, in partnership with the Sri Lanka Navy, officially opened a state-of-the-art English Language Lab at the Naval and Maritime Academy in Trincomalee on September 15.

The facility was inaugurated by Lt. Col. Matthew House from the U.S. Embassy, Rear Admiral Dammika Wijewardana, and Commodore Dinesh Bandara.

Equipped with the latest multimedia technology and training software from the U.S. Defense Language Institute, the lab will support Navy personnel in enhancing their English proficiency - a vital skill for international naval operations and training.
