Srilanka, Feb. 22 -- Two suspects arrested in connection with the Kotahena shooting have been shot dead by police.
Police said the suspects attempted to open fire on officers after seizing a police firearm while being taken to the location where they had hidden other weapons on the night of February 21.
A police officer was also injured in the incident.
According to Police Spokesperson SSP Buddhika Manatunga, the shooting victim, identified as 38-year-old Shashi Kumar, was attacked by the suspects, who arrived on a motorcycle.
The victim later died in the hospital from his injuries.
