Sri Lanka, Sept. 12 -- Two passengers attempting to smuggle in mobile phones, tablet computers, cosmetics and a large stock of cigarettes and cannabis wrapping paper worth Rs. 5 million were arrested this morning by Customs officers at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA).

The suspects, aged 32 and 45, are residents of Colombo and engaged in business activities. They had arrived from Dubai on SriLankan Airlines flight UL-226, which landed at 5.30 a.m. today.

According to Customs, the passengers were apprehended while attempting to pass through the "Green Channel" at the arrival terminal, which is reserved for those without items to declare.
