Colombo, March 27 -- The driver and his assistant died and another was seriously injured when a bowser veered off the road at the Ambalamahena Bridge on the Kalawana-Matugama road early this morning.
The injured, in critical condition was admitted to the Ratnapura Teaching Hospital.
The driver of the bowser (27) from the Galnewa area and his assistant (36) from Bulathsinhala died in the incident.
The bowser belonging to a rubber factory in the Bulathsinhala area had been transporting a consignment of latex.
Police said the driver may have fallen asleep while at the wheel and lost control of the vehicle.
