Sri Lanka, Sept. 3 -- A late-night collision between a lorry and a bowser transporting fuel claimed two lives near the Mirigama entrance of the Central Expressway, police today.
The incident occurred around 11:00 p.m. at the 41st-kilometer post. Investigations revealed that the lorry had veered off the road and overturned, moments before the bowser lost control and toppled onto it.
The lorry driver died at the scene, while the assistant of the bowser succumbed to injuries en route to hospital. The bowser driver, who sustained serious injuries, is currently receiving treatment at the Wathupitiwala Base Hospital.
