Sri Lanka, Oct. 29 -- Two individuals have died in Puttalam after consuming an unidentified liquid from a bottle that had been found floating in the sea, police said.

According to police, two others who also drank the liquid are receiving treatment at the Puttalam Hospital.

The incident took place at a fishing hut in the Norochcholai area, where the group of four had reportedly shared the contents of the bottle.

Following the death of one individual at the hospital, police launched an investigation and later discovered the body of another person at the fishing hut.

Further investigations into the incident are underway.
