Sri Lanka, Sept. 12 -- The Sri Lanka Navy arrested two suspects who were trying to smuggle 91 birds near Sirithoppuwa beach in Mannar this week.

The suspects, aged 17 and 52, are from Pesalai and Mannar.

The suspects were caught with 72 pigeons and 19 game fowls during a search carried out by the Navy.

The Navy also seized the dinghy used in the smuggling attempt.

The suspects, along with the birds and the dinghy, were handed over to the Pesalai Police for legal action.
