Colombo, Sept. 24 -- SriLankan Airlines announced that two aircraft, which had been grounded for a long period due to engine failures, have now been returned to service, while another aircraft is scheduled to rejoin the fleet early next year.
In a media release, the airline said it had also acquired an Airbus A330-200 wide-body aircraft on lease in June-the first wide-body addition in seven years. This acquisition has allowed the airline to expand its operations and strengthen connectivity.
