Colombo, April 25 -- A suspect wanted in connection with the triple murder in Middeniya has been arrested in India and repatriated to Sri Lanka this morning.

Police said the 31-year-old, Vidana Gamage Ishan Madushanka, a resident of Debokkawa, was extradited from Chennai by officers of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

The Middeniya Police launched investigations after a 39-year-old man known as "Kajja," along with his son and daughter, was gunned down at Kadewatta Junction in Middeniya in February this year.

Police suspect the killings were carried out as an act of revenge for allegedly stealing a parcel of cannabis belonging to a notorious drug trafficker known as "Backhoe Saman."
