Sri Lanka, Dec. 19 -- The Sri Lanka Railways Department has announced the resumption of new train services on the Upcountry and Eastern Railway lines, effective from tomorrow (20), aimed at improving passenger convenience.
In a statement, the department said the services will operate between Badulla and Avissawella on the Upcountry line, and between Colombo Fort and Trincomalee on the Eastern line.
Accordingly, four special train services will operate daily between Badulla and Avissawella on the Upcountry Railway line. Trains will depart Badulla at 9.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m., except on Wednesdays, while services from Avissawella to Badulla will depart at 9.30 a.m. and 3.00 p.m.
