Sri Lanka, Dec. 9 -- Sri Lanka has welcomed 2,128,639 tourists so far this year, the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) announced, marking a strong performance for the recovering tourism sector.
The SLTDA noted that 50,222 visitors arrived within the first eight days of December alone, reflecting a steady rise in seasonal travel.
India, Germany, Russia, the United Kingdom, China, and Australia have emerged as the leading source markets driving this year's influx of tourists.
Tourism authorities expect arrivals to continue increasing in the coming weeks, providing further momentum to the industry's ongoing revival.
