Srilanka, Jan. 30 -- The Independence Day celebrated in Sri Lanka on February 4 must be given new meaning. We are just days away from celebrating the 77th edition of celebrating Independence from the British. But we have over the years given prominence to individuals (State leaders of the past) who were not very true to the nation when ushering in independence. Some of them were instrumental in having deals or understandings with the British as to how Ceylon should be governed in the early years after independence.
