Sri Lanka, March 25 -- A group of 10 Bangladeshi nationals who had entered the country illegally with the intention of fleeing to Europe were arrested by officers of the Investigation Division of the Immigration and Emigration Department in the Adiambalam area of Katunayake yesterday.

All of them are Bangladeshi men between the ages of 20 and 30. They had travelled from Bangladesh to India and from there had arrived at the Katunayake Airport in February, obtaining a tourist visa (On-Arrival Visa) to enter Sri Lanka.

Immigration officers found that these Bangladeshi men had overstayed their visas.
