Sri Lanka, Nov. 11 -- Sri Lanka's rising table tennis star, Taavi Samaraweera, has etched his name in history by becoming the world's No. 3 in the latest Under-11 Boys' World Table Tennis Rankings - the highest-ever ranking achieved by a Sri Lankan player at any age category.

According to the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) rankings released this week, Samaraweera made a remarkable leap of 52 places to secure third position with 200 ranking points. He now trails only Joseph Sebatindira of Uganda and Rabeah Al-Kuwari of Qatar, both ranked ahead of him.
