Sri Lanka, Sept. 5 -- The driver of the SUV involved in a collision with the bus before it plunged into a precipice in Ella has been taken into police custody. Authorities said the driver faces charges of negligence and failing to prevent the accident.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, which claimed the lives of 15 people, including Tangalle Municipal Council staff and two children.
