Colombo, April 28 -- A 27-year-old resident of Kadawatha was ordered to be detained for a period of seven days under Section 82(3) of the Poisons, Opium and Dangerous Drugs Ordinance following his arrest with a large stock of narcotics.

The suspect was found in possession of 13 kilograms and 372 grams of heroin, along with 3 kilograms and 580 grams of 'Ice' during a raid conducted based on information received by the Malabe Police.

The raid was carried out at a house located in the Nagahamulla area, Kotikawatta, within the Wellampitiya Police Division, which was suspected to be used as a drug distribution center.
