Manila, Nov. 4 -- The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a proposal by the Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs to purchase 100 motorcycles with 125cc engine capacity and 50 tuk-tuks for the Special Task Force (STF).

The decision comes as nearly 90% of the STF's existing fleet of 314 motorcycles have become outdated and prone to technical faults, with most being over 10 years old. This situation has hampered the Force's ability to conduct regular and effective special operations.
