Sri Lanka, Feb. 6 -- Sri Lanka intends asking for compensation for damages of properties, thefts and loss of lives that had taken place during the colonial period, Minister of Foreign Affairs Vijitha Herath told Parliament today.
The Minister was referring to Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, who urged the government to follow the example of some African nations which are to demand compensation from nations which had made them their colonies.
