Sri Lanka, Dec. 16 -- The Sri Lanka Singers' Association today scoffed the rumors that are being circulated on social media that popular signer Latha Walpola has passed away.

Musician Ajantha Peiris, who is a member of Sri Lanka Singers' Association, told the Daily Mirror that Latha is very much alive, though she is seriously ill and had sought hospital treatment.

"She is very much alive," he said.
