Sri Lanka, Oct. 16 -- Sri Lanka's passport has fallen to 98th place in the 2025 Henley Passport Index, down two spots from its previous ranking of 96th.

Sri Lankan citizens now enjoy visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to just 41 countries, reflecting ongoing challenges to the nation's global mobility.

The Henley Passport Index, which ranks 199 passports based on access to 227 destinations, is widely regarded as a key benchmark for passport strength and international travel freedom.

Leading the 2025 index is Singapore, whose citizens can travel to 193 countries without a visa, followed by South Korea with access to 190 countries, and Japan in third with 189 destinations.
