Srilanka, Feb. 25 -- Sri Lanka is on track for another record-breaking month in tourist arrivals this February, with arrivals in the first 20 days surpassing 175,000.

The provisional data from the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority shows that the island nation welcomed 175,436 foreign visitors during this period, marking a 14.76 percent year-on-year increase compared to the same time last year.

If the current trend continues, Sri Lanka could record its best-ever February, exceeding 245,000 tourists. The previous record was set in 2018, with 235,618 arrivals.

So far this month, the country has seen an average of 8,772 daily arrivals, up from 7,644 per day in the same period last year.
