Sri Lanka, Aug. 9 -- Sri Lanka has expressed deep concern over Israel's decision to take control of Gaza, warning that it could lead to more violence and suffering for the people living there.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism in Colombo called for an immediate ceasefire. The ministry urged all sides to settle their differences through diplomatic talks to achieve lasting peace.
