Colombo, April 7 -- While several parts of the island are expected to experience heavy rainfall above100 mm, the sun is also currently passing directly overhead in several areas.
According to the Department of Meteorology, heavy rainfall of above 100 mm are likely at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, Uva and North-Central Provinces and in the Ampara district.
Further, misty conditions are forecast during the morning in Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva and North-Central regions.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka is also witnessing the sun directly overhead as it moves northward along its apparent path.
