Colombo, April 16 -- Special train services will operate on April 18, 19 and 20 to facilitate travel for those returning to Colombo from their hometowns after the Sinhala and Tamil New Year, Sri Lanka Railways General Manager J.I.D. Jayasundara said.

He said that these special services will continue till April 21 and will run in addition to the regular daily train schedules.

Meanwhile, he said that eight special trains have been scheduled to run between Colombo and Kandy from April 18 in light of the upcoming exposition of the Sacred Tooth Relic (Siri Dalada Dekma).
