Srilanka, Feb. 14 -- Speaker Jagath Wickramaratne informed Parliament that he was planning to take necessary action over the requests made by MPs regarding the allegations of USAID funding in Sri Lanka.
The Speaker told this in Parliament while responding to a question raised by Opposition MP Dayasiri Jayasekara who raised a question on the matter.
MP Jayasekara said SLPP MP Namal Rajapaksa had sent a letter to the Speaker calling for the appointment of a Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) on the reports of USAID funding in Sri Lanka.
He questioned the Speaker whether a PSC would be appointed and the matter investigated into.
Speaker Wickramaratne responded saying that he plans to take necessary action regarding the matter.
