Sri Lanka, Jan. 16 -- The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) has launched a special programme aimed at achieving the country's tourism targets for this year, SLTDA Chairman Buddhika Hewawasam said.
Addressing the media, Hewawasam stated that a series of promotional campaigns are being carried out targeting European markets in a bid to attract more tourists during off-peak seasons.
According to him, special attention will be given to Spain and surrounding regions, as tourists from these markets mostly visit Sri Lanka during the summer months. He noted that promotional activities in these countries are expected to be further intensified in the coming months.
