Sri Lanka, Jan. 14 -- The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) has launched special bus services to accommodate travelers heading to their hometowns for the upcoming long weekend and Thai Pongal celebrations.

Deputy General Manager T. H. R. T. Chandrasiri told the media that the special services will commence today (January 14) from the Bastian Mawatha Bus Terminal in Pettah.

He added that additional buses have been deployed from the Bastian Mawatha Long-Distance Bus Terminal and major cities across the country. Extra services will operate to popular destinations including Hatton, Nuwara Eliya, Badulla, and Jaffna.
