Srilanka, May 7 -- The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP), which was reduced to rubble at the last General Elections with just three per cent of votes, has made some gains at this Local Government elections.

The party's vote share has increased significantly in the Southern Province to 15-20 per cent in most cases.
