Sri Lanka, Jan. 28 -- Air quality across most parts of Sri Lanka remained at moderate levels over the past 24 hours, while slightly unhealthy conditions were reported in Jaffna and Puttalam, the National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) said.
Forecasts indicate that the Air Quality Index (AQI) is expected to range between 58 and 114 over the next 24 hours, maintaining moderate conditions in most cities. However, Jaffna and Puttalam are likely to continue experiencing slightly unhealthy air.
Authorities warned that polluted wind flow from the northern region under transboundary conditions could temporarily raise air pollution levels across the country over the next two to three days.
