Sri Lanka, Nov. 17 -- The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) said it would take strict disciplinary action against party members who supported the National People's Power (NPP) during recent budget approvals in local government bodies.

In an official statement, the SLFP said it has temporarily suspended the membership of those who voted in favour of the NPP. The party added that it is seeking explanations from the concerned members and will decide on further disciplinary measures based on their responses.
